Did you know that a variety of colleges give discounts on tuition for siblings? Some even cut tuition prices in half.

When you have more than one child that’s enrolled in college at the same time, it can get a bit pricy. Colleges want to give these siblings a break, so some offer tuition discounts.

usnews.com released an article on December 11, 2012 to inform people about this opportunity. It mostly states some of the basic requirements and how to go about receiving the discount.

“…eligibility for the discounts can vary by institution. But the awards typically only apply to siblings who are dependents of their parents, and who attend the same institution together for at least part of the time they’re pursuing degrees. In many programs, if one student graduates or drops out, the other sibling will no longer receive a discount.”

This opportunity could help save families with multiple students enrolled in college a lot of money.

One college that offers this opportunity is Johnson and Wales University in Denver and Rhode Island. This college takes $2,000 off of the annual tuition for each sibling enrolled at the same time.

Western New England University in Massachusetts gives a $1,000 a year discount. Otterbein University in Ohio gives the same discount.
